A Big Fat Case of the Yuckies!

Things have been... rough, for awhile now. I just can't seem to get it together. But I guess that's the point, "I" can't. It's time to relinquish the control (that I never had,) to someone much stronger. "I lift my eyes up, to the mountains. Where does my help come from?".... To say that I have been depressed and feeling defeated, would be accurate! BUT, I am feeling hopeful. I am looking forward to this chaotic week...being over, that is! But seriously, I am REALLY excited about Lalalicious' recital. And, I am REALLY excited about my first HOMESCHOOL CONVENTION at DISNEY!!!! I do feel a peace setting in. In spite of the yuckiness that has surrounded us for a while, I love, love, love seeing my kids learn and grow. I've gone pretty slow with our BOB books, so Licious doesn't end up Loathing reading time! We've averaged one book a week, using different worksheets everyday. I plan on going 5 weeks and then, a week of review. Yesterday we reviewed book one, and she drew her favorite page: On a curriculum note, I got the primer level set of Explode the Code for Obi Wan. We are loving it! It's really thorough with each letter, and covers review very well! I had bought this chart at Kohl$ awhile ago because it was $7! (There are pictures of things that start with each letter sound, and a lower case of each letter to stick on the chart.) Little did I know they use something almost exactly the same in Explode the code! While the animals or objects may not be quite the same... it still drives it home! I've decided to use the higher levels with Licious. The best deal for these books seems to be from Hearts At Home Curriculum Store.Explode the Code ~ Save 30% They are very affordable, although there are lots of books, wholes, halves, and beyond the code books. What is nice is they group they teachers manuals, so you don't have to buy a manual for every single one! Enter for a chance to win a $50 Hearts At Home gift card until June 7th, HERE! Be blessed!
