Writing Gods word on their hearts

You know your kids FAVORITE show? The one they watch over and over, and never seem to get tired of? The one that becomes the soundtrack to YOUR dreams...? (You may or may not have considered "misplacing" said show.) I think we can learn something from this. I think there is something to this media crazed world we live in, that can enrich our kids lives. Does anyone else miss Kids Praise? You know, with Psalty the singing songbook...? Anyone..? Did I just, unintentionally give away my age? Well, if you don't know what I'm talking about, it was this great, cassette tape series (oops, did it again!) Anyway, Psalty the songbook would come and visit kids and sing songs and instill Biblical values and lessons, along the way. I listened to them over and over, and would sing at the top of my lungs. What I realize now, is that I was hiding Gods word in my heart. Through the years, whenever certain situations would arise, I could instantly recall a song (and life lesson..) from kids praise, and know Gods truth regarding the matter! And, I am so not exaggerating either! It's amazing how fast Gods living, breathing word jumps to mind, when it's embedded in you. There are some amazing kids C.D.'s, D.V.D.'s and programs (CDROM ,etc.) out there, ready to saturate our kids. Instead of the alternative, we might as well put that solid food in, and their spiritual armor on right? Plug your kids into the WORD! While, Kids Praise is still out there... there are oodles of other options! I highly recommend just about anything Veggie Tales does! It's fun and silly with all the values built in. We especially love, "Hosanna!" (a veggie tales c.d.) My kids sing praise and worship, loud and slightly off key, and it's the most beautiful thing this mothers heart has ever heard!
